By Elizabeth Kameo
Today, I spent close to two hours with a group of young Ugandan men and women who are openly gay at the People’s Space. Some people actually thought I was gay, not that I cared.
And as an open interactive area and a hive of activity it was the right place for these young people to be: they could speak openly.
And guess what, I realized that like me, they are just people, who love and want to have freedom. People who want to be accepted and not persecuted just because they are men who love men and women who love women.
I am not going to go into the law here but speak as a human being and try to put myself in their shoes. An openly gay beautiful young woman participant had me thinking. As I talked to her she told me about the challenges she and others face thanks to being openly gay.
She has been thrown out of public transport, she is shunned in the community where she lives, she cannot find a job, seeking medical treatment for HIV and AIDS is another challenge, and so the list goes on and on.
Now who would want to live such a life? I do not think that these people wake up one day and decide they want to be gay. That just does not cut it.
Gays and lesbians have always existed in Uganda but the moment they decided it was time for them to gain their stand in society, then all hell broke loose for them. Is that not just hypocrisy? And their problem is simply the fact that they talked about being homosexuals then that became a problem.
I cannot help but wonder, ‘Are our leaders not trying to find a scapegoat in gays and homosexuals instead of focusing on the issues that they have failed to solve in our societies?’ Poverty for example, maternal mortality, child mortality.
There is always a price to pay for visibility and right now, Uganda’s gay people are paying that price.

FROM TALK ON HOMOSEXUALITY TO ACTION ON ISSUES WITHIN; A WALL OF GREATNESS:
From 21.11.2007 to 21.11. 2008:
A creation of space in which norms of debate, discussion, and dialogue are adhered to in the promotion of minority expression, especially the LGBTI Community.
A development of data and write ups on exchanges.
A creation of “Action commissions” to put into actions various developments.
A generated matrix of issues commonly understood, expressed and all efforts made to address the issues.
An environment where the burning issues are held on the finger tips,so that even in all emotional heated moments we do not lose focus.
To use such platforms to inform others so that there is an understanding of movement from talk to action.
To create environment for self accounting, responsibility-based inclusive models
Therefore, I try to show others and be mindful of the following;
“I” have to be the spokesperson for a big silent majority.
“Am” to depict tact, balanced diplomacy, astuteness, defence, ability to keep a straight face even in a situation that provokes “my” sentiments.
Create transferable documentation and literature on what I want to inform others about my issues.
Encourage access to a resource centre or resource materials that through which not only information ,education, communication is exchanged but also services such as;reparations, reconciliation, medical, legal, socialising, interactive, ICT,telephony.
A creation of life through seeing how action can make a change.
Creation of new life for a person who approaches you.
The following issues stand out among the LGBTI community they are divided into those that concern the LGBTI-Community and those perceived by the larger mainstream community;
INTRA-CONCERNS
Coming out/Disclosure
Integration in community as an idnetifying person
Initiation in LGBTI-Community/Conforming to LGBTI-LIFE.
Expression of full personality .
Self preservation.
Realising full potential as an LGBTI person
Relations,mating and contacts
Sexual initiation
Socialising
Classification defence
Equal/ timely representation before law
Access and confidence in provision of holistic quality social services
Non-discrimination before and during expression and enjoyment of ;creed, culture, intimacy, privacy, seeking legal counsel, employment, education, personal development advice and travel
MAINSTREAM PERSPECTIVES,ACTIONS AND PRACTICES
Ambivalence,disregard, subjectivism.
Parental/Filial/social-cultural relations
Press and media expressing dignity/issues-based reporting
Legal , inalienable enjoyment ,participation, protection, action and representation before law.
Access to and enjoyment of care and basic social services.
CONCLUSION;
In the 21 st century, there is need to move from talking about certain minority groups without deciding to cater for them to taking action on raised issues especially if these issues have been raised in the spirit of dialogue and promise for concerted effort to address these issues without fear of reprisals or non-delivery .
Thomas Mukasa,is a person who has worked on profiling Health-Rights delivery, provision and generation of appropriate action plans,
It’s good that the gay community in Uganda was given a chance to speak. I think it’s time that the leadership in this country looked into their issues. I agree that as Ugandans, our culture does not encourage acceptance of their sexual behavior. On the otherhand, however, issues like HIV/AIDS that are affecting them can’t be ignored. Their challenges will definitely spread and affect the people around them, like family, friends and society.
Without thinking in terms of right or wrong, the issues affecting the gay community will grow to affect the rest of this country.
The leadership of this country should also be carefull to avoid inciting the public against these people. Such violent attitudes could cause more problems that they are solving!
It is not everytime that i am proud of what most Ugandans say regarding the gay issue, for what you say Julian, i am proud of you. Thank you. It is not that you may agree that gayismis right or wrong. who are we to condemn anyone. But i do find your comment on the fact that sooner or later the whole country will be affected by issues that affect gays like HIV and AIDS. The truth is that the gay community is being hard hit but in the fight againt the pandemic, leaders and other people are hell bent on condemning gays without looking into facts. Gay people cannot access HIV and AIDS treatment when they opnely say they are gay or present their partners, this is a serious issue. Bi sexual men and women in Uganda are having sexual relationships with them which means its a viscious cycle of infections. I think we need to go beyond right or wrong and look at issues that will affect development. Throwing stones at the gay people will not help, in the end it will affect each and everyone of us in ways we shall wish had never happened. Its about time people in Uganda stopped thinking that they hold the candle to right or worng and address real issues. Whatever we say no matter how many protests people hold against them, they will always exist and that will not take them away they are humans and more will be born. Like i said in my blog above, they are paying the price of coming out in the open its never easy.
“PAYING THE PRICE” and what it means for the LGBTI -COMMUNITY;
1.That once you have “come out” to be seen and known, you have to be aware that there will be a category of people who will not enroll you, employ you, want to interact with you.
2.That you have to lead a very exemplary life.Because you have put yourself on a standard bar that requires you to be delicate, but at the same time living your life.
3.That you have to create contacts with persons who can help you access basic social services.
4.That you have to engage in some form of positive gainful employment. To avoid being an idle unemployable person.
5.Join a form of pressure group so that you have a platform to air your views which can become collective views,in turn these are representative of a minority group.A basis for discipline, focus, negotiation, lobbying and advocacy.
5.Strive to understand that in this economy-based world, one needs to be educatable, employable, integratable and flexible enough.
6.Not everyone is ready to be your friend, ally and act for your good.
It is upon you to depict an image of non-confrontation and encourage dialogue and tolerance.
In the first place, it is not fair to ask for more trouble. I agree with you that LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexeul and Transgender) people get treated for HIV/AIDS. Government came out clear on the LGB issue - it is illegal as per now. Have freedom from what? Who said they are not free? God gave us freedom of choice to live our lives but He also mentioned things that come with curses. Does the international world accept some of the cultures we have in Africa like flesh eating cannibals? Are cannibals free? Would the international world accept such in their society? One person by the names of
Alice Bailey (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alice_Bailey) started pushing this LGBT agenda through her Lucis Trust. Now this agenda has been exposed as practicing the most obscene homosexual and child pornography rituals imaginable. That is what they call the people’s voice? She believed in Djwal Khul (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Djwhal_Khul ) who is regarded as spiritual guide of mankind. So these people are not behaving like this on their own volition. The trusty she opened was originally called Lucifer but for fear of letting the world know what it all meant, she shortened it to Lucis (short for Lucifer) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alice_Bailey#The_Arcane_School_and_the_Lucis_Trust )
Those of you advocating for these LGBT rights. Do you know that their methods of recruiting young men in schools is a proper violation of their rights? They first molest young boys and girls and then force them to accept that they practice this. Some school leaders (read prefects) in Ugandan schools have threatened to expose young boys for expellable offenses. They threaten to plant condoms and such paraphernalia in their suitcase boxes and the only condition they give to let them off the hook is by joining their LGBT groups!! Such characters come from people who are either possessed or are under the influence of drugs. So who is talking for those young girls and boys whose rights are violated?
Shame! After forcefully converting them, they change tone, to say this is normal or ‘natural’, so why worry? This is very similar to Kony style of converting young children into fighters forcing them to beat their brother or sister or village mate to death! Let us look at how those people started feeling this way and how they were recruited. Some were victims of rape and child molestation or forceful recruitment. Or by the way, if they are natural, then why do they seek to pair up and copy God’s plan. Adam and Eve? And why do they want to use artificial things to enjoy? Do we want to encourage this way of recruitment. Let those who are practising this mention their full recruitment background into this so far illegal activity. And we expect honesty here. Despite all that the LGB people are going through – the only Saviour Jesus still waits for them to accept His free gift of salvation. If you were recruited and confused into this LGB thing, just say this prayer, because Jesus’ door will be opened when you knock. He is waiting and there will be a big celebration in heaven for one lost soul that returns to the kingdom of God. We are sinners, not only the LGBT group, but what makes the difference is to get out of trouble and live harmoniously with others. If what you doing is causing trouble - then why not leave it?
Dear Father in Heaven, Thank you for sending the Lord Jesus Christ to die on the cross for MY sins. Please forgive me of all I have ever said or done that you have called “sin”. I take you at Your Word that you will forgive all who ask. I believe that Jesus died for me, that He was buried and that you raised Him from the dead. I ask Jesus to be my Lord, as well as my Saviour. I surrender myself to Him, totally. Thank you Lord that I am now saved, and can call myself, your child. Amen.
Now look for a good Christian church around you and begin to be grafted in Jesus. For He is the tree and we are the branches. Also forgive anyone who initiated you into this LGB activities.
Lastly, those who are preaching hatred agains the LGB people, pleas forgive them. Terry Waite has been preaching forgiveness. Also forgive Kony for what he did to our brothers.
That is the only way to go.
GET INFORMED AND GET OFF YOUR MORAL HIGH HORSE
I’ve come to realise that our society is very ignorant has poor communication skills and is even not willing to learn. Being hetero sexual has over time come to be conventionally and socially accepted as the only way of human sexual relations. At birth a child is assigned a particular sex basing on the physical appearance of a person’s genitalia; however science has proved that the amount of hormone oestrogen and testosterone responsible for the reproductive elements that determine sex of a person varies among individuals. As well as other biological and psychological factors. Various studies at john Hopkins university and hospital reveal that some persons on the face of it look male but on the inside do have female organs and vice versa or one could look male but he feels that every aspect of him is female other studies show that sex is a state of mind as such hormonal imbalances could be a probable cause for why some people are attracted to the same sex, thus a girl who feels masculine in every psychological aspect may be attracted to other girls.
This is what happens when sex assignation goes wrong, these humans feel trapped in bodies of a different sex.
I am sadden by the fact that instead of our society trying to understand why some people feel that way , society is busy bashing them and denying their existence and tormenting them. By the gays coming out all they are saying is ‘if we have chosen to be this way because we feel this way then let it be- it shouldn’t be criminalised’. They are not encouraging people to teach their kids to be this way, all they are saying is that society should acknowledge that such people exist because whether they deny it or not they do exist.
I’ am of the view that If homosexuality is a sin then let every other sin be criminalised as well. Because apart from some single sex school tendencies and children being sodomised in churches there’s almost no sexual violence and harassment from the gay community as opposed to the heterosexual “normal community”
A few days ago the new vision reported that 170 girls are raped every week that makes about 700 females a month, statistics show that 88% of married heterosexuals account for the spread of HIV through promiscuity and extra-marital affairs. So why doesn’t the church address these problems from the heterosexuals when they affect our daily lives, why doesn’t the church buzz the way it’s buzzing now when it comes to the homosexuals.
I suggest that every one should get off their moral high horse , yes homosexuality is a sin but we heterosexuals also sin everyday, we steal, lust, lie, kill, convent other people’s property and wives, use God’s name in vain, disobey your parents etc and remember breaking one commandment is as Good as breaking all the rest. So people like nsaba buturo and pastor ssempa should stop judging because am very sure you sin everyday just by virtue of off being human, and that makes you a habitual sinner too like the homosexual. It shows that each off us has a nasty habit that they have a hard time trying to let go of it and it’s usually a sin.
So who are u to judge? Jesus was wise enough not to treat such people like dirt, he was definitely wiser than modern day religious leaders, because when Christ asked the Pharisees to cast stones at the prostitute if they had never sinned, he was condoning immorality and prostitution, but his actions showed that he acknowledged that every human being has a weakness and that every pot has it’s crack and that’s how the light gets in.
Recently when the media brought out the dirt in the churches, instead of the church acknowledging it’s weakness, be sorry and address the problem because every institution has weaknesses instead, they constantly denied everything yet it was plain that these things where happening. It took pastor ssempa 2 weeks to get a sorry from his mouth on capital gang after his excuses had been exhausted.
And besides these practices have existed from back in the day even before Christ was born and even African studies reveal a history that permitted same sex marriages infact it’s also said to have existed secretly among some Bantu tribes including the baganda, but our people and leaders are adamant ignorant and know nothing about their history.
All excuse to deny gay rights do not hold water people say homosexuals are seducing the innocent youth for financial and material gains, my question is aren’t the heterosexuals doing the same?? We have sugar mummy’s and daddy’s doing the same to the heterosexual youths, surprisingly our church leaders and political leaders are quiet about that and do not give it the same amount of attention, simply because it’s heterosexual they are comfortable with it even when it’s wrong and some of them also indulge in it.
Heterosexuals are defiling, raping, committing bestiality, incestuous, encourage promiscuity under the guise of polygny, and much more all these are sexual sins just like lying with a person of the same sex so let the gays be they’ll answer their case before God, because denying their rights to be is not going to stop them from existing and from feeling the way they do, there’s nothing much the moralists can do about it but to get off the high horse.
When it comes to heterosexual violence and promiscuity it’s not exaggerated the same way by our leaders you never hear of it it’s simply ignored and you can only catch it on drake ssekeba’s vumbula every Friday, even then it still goes on unchecked.
So please ssempa and nsaba buturo as well as everyone else please inform yourself and get off your moral high horse either let the gays be who they are or criminalise very sin and other morally unacceptable behaviour with equally heavy penalties to avoid marginalising a section of the population . Because we all know that those penalties for crimes against morality (which are mainly heterosexual) in the penal code are merely on paper save for prostitution and homosexuality which marginalizes women and gays. So what’s the use of the law if it’s not about justice??
For the Christians not every one believes in your bible so do not force your ideas on everyone we all have a right and freedom of expression including the gays and the same God who created man and woman is the same God who created an oyster which can change it’s sex several times during it’s life span so I bet the same option could be available to humans.
We should understand these people and try to help them. I remember while I was growing up a man with breasts and other feminine features or a woman with masculine features like a visible penis and beards would be feared and treated like and referred to as some spiritual creatures misaambwa –djins yet these were merely hermaphrodites.
You can imagine what kind of stigma these people go through simply because of a gender insensitive society that forces persons to fit into two boxes either male or female and leaves no room for other humans who do not conform to those categories but are still human. Most gays start out as Trans gendered teenagers or cross dressers with a gender dysphoria of who they are but eventually decide on what’s best for them.
So can all of us educate our selves on such matters and stop treating people like animals, every one should pray for wisdom to deal with such matters wisely as opposed to pastors ssempa’s karate tricks – that was very inappropriate advice from a whole senior pastor and very unethical. All the gays are saying is decriminalise – not legalise, the problem is poor communication because we are not listening to what they are saying we are simply hearing, remember hearing is sense but listening is an art. And besided the same God who made a Phenomenal birth of Jesus without intervention of sperm can pave way for gays to have children.. Who knows? Just because it hasn’t’t happened doesn’t mean it cannot happen after all “religion is blind without science and science is lame without religion”
law student
sorry i meant to say that “jesus wasn’t condoning promiscuity but was simply showing that all humans have a weakness”
To all who have chosen to be gay or lesibian,I truely share your pain. But this is a pain that you have taken onto yourselves.
The pain of stigma, rejection, discrimination, marginalisation and worse of all eternal separation from the creator.
The acceptable natural human pleasure with all its challenges(identity crisis, the possible sexual alternatives, the personal doubts, the insecurity, the multiple complexes, the let downs, the chilhood neglect/abuse…) far beats the pain you chose.
But you made your bed,now lay in it.
love
kasozi Mulindwa
and besides God has no sex, IT’s a spirit and spirits have no sex,but human beings with our narrow minds and insight have acorded GOD a sex..as a him, alot of people are ingnorant and donot even kno the disticntion between sex and gender, sex is biologocal ur born as a man or woman. whereas gender is a creation of the society to accord both sexes particular roles, that a man shod be masculine and a woman feminine, the bible is very clear no man can see the face of God and live
Genesis 1:27 states humanity was made
in God’s image as male and female who
should join together, be fruitful, and
multiply. This could be interpreted to mean
only males and females should join
together in order to procreate, and to not
procreate is unnatural. But we must
remember: procreation was urged at the
time of the first humans because then
the world was virtually empty of people!
Today the world is dangerously
overpopulated. Also both Jesus and Paul
themselves chose to remain celibate
(along with innumerable priests, monks,
and nuns, after them) And as far as the
strict separation of male and female goes,
Galatians 3:28 states: “There is neither
Jew or Greek, slave or free, male or female.
For you are all one in Christ Jesus.”
Then what about Genesis 19? Were not
Sodom and Gomorrah destroyed because
of homosexuality? Most scholars are in
agreement that the capital crime
emphasized there was inhospitality and
violence to strangers. Today we might find
a worse crime in Lot’s offering his two
young daughters to be ravished in place of
his guests. Similarly in Juges 19:23-29 a
virgin daughter and concubine were offered
to appease violent sodomists who raped the
concubine to death. It seems morality there
was quite lacking when it came to women.
what of the Jew’s attitude toward
homosexuality? After all they should be the best
interpreters of their own Hebrew (”Old”)
Testament. Their Halakah (Traditional Law) serves
wisely to make the Law fit new understanding.
Today only Orthodox Judaism prohibits homosexual
practice, but doesn’t blame anyone for his or her
sexual preference. Conservative and many Reformed
and Reconstructionist Jews endorse gay marriage
and ordination. As early as 1965 the Women of
Reformed Judaism riled against homosexual
discrimination.
Just like straight sex, gay sex becomes harmful
when used for rape, child molestation,
spreading disease, or using others as mere meat.
In fact straight sex has even two more ways to do
harm: i.e. through adultery (now becoming
applicable to gays), and by creating unwanted
children.
it’s a pain created by society, by positive law created by human beings which simply borrows moarlty views from the bible and othe scripture to justify existance of such laws just because someone is different doesnt mean they are bad ,if u cannt understand the gyas i wonder how u’ll b able to understand all the stigmatised people, the poor, the HIV patients, the disabled, they are treated with contempt simply because they look different, or are different,
SOCIETY CREATES ITS OWN MINORITY GROUPS, WHICH IT HAS TO CATER FOR!
That at first there is people, who make a community and this becomes a society. In the society,in order for it to be of service to the beneficiaries there are certain norms and values. These norms and values compel all to conform to certain living standards. And then there arises a creation of minorities, whose demands arise as a result of their different needs as aresult of biological differences, biologocal groupings, tastes and likings. These become a group of people with different set of needs which have to addressed. The fundamentals of participation, protection, survival and affordable, appropriate, safe accessibility should be held. Then, priorities and competing for access to services begins. This is couched in all forms of words, syntax, law, policy, written in such a way as to serve a given class and leaving out and not representing the input of minority(marginalised) groups. And of course,we still need to learn the art of dialogue, debate, discussion and having fora which are ready to act upon raised unmet needs, without
reprisals, procrastination, and favouritism. If a government, local council,Faith-Based Organisation, support services,NGO’s,People looked upon as mentors/accomplished and the LGBTI Community is to be served let the the one’s given resposibilty and ability be objective and face up.Neglect sparks more build up of problems which could have been remedied at an earlier presentation.
thats a good point thomas we need more people to think like that and broaden their minds,we need to see something for what it is and not for what it seems to be or for what we are told it is…
The end of a matter is better than the beginning of the same.
Only God can judge now.
Cheers.
Let me be very clear on this. The gays you see out there fighting for their rights DO NOT CHOOSE being gay. Which sensible human being would conciously choose for a life which is far more difficult than a more common way of living? Don’t Uganda people already have enough problems? Being gay is much more than a ‘lifestyle’, far more than just sex, it is about genuinly falling in love with a person of the same sex and not being able to fall in love with a person of the opposite sex…
It is sad to see that educated people like Sempa seem to narrow being gay down to having anal sex… (e.g. ‘no rear entry’ slogans and spreading the idea that all gays wear daipers).
Hullo all you lesbians, gays and T’s & I’s. I have never eaten a lesbian or homosexual. I am just waiting for you death. I have now seen all of you in pictures as a part of the minority. When you die, give me a chance to eat your body. It would be nice to promote my minority rights in the Commonwealth. What an opportunity for me as a minority. Kindly consider my rights to eat human flesh. I am really waiting for my rights as a minority. It would be cool to include me in the proposal that the People’s Forum promoted for all minorities. But moreso, please give me your address so that I my fellow minorities can help us get a chance to eat one of the other minorities. I am fighting for my rights to eat human flesh and I feel you would be a good piece of LGB flesh - one that does do natural things. One that is not contaminated with fluids from the opposite sex. Ooo I can’t wait for that day. It is my homework to know where you live and just patiently wait for my rights to eat what I want. What do you think?
People out there, we need to coonsider forgiveness. If a person has messed up their life, then we oought o help them get out of the mess. These people need rehabilitation. They need the love of Christ. If there are some that need help, let them get in touch with Mr Stephen Langa of Family Life Network. He has an office at Kampala Pentecostal Church. If you need Stephen email and number, please leave a message - I will respond. To all those who are throwing hate messages, please stop this, as it does not help. Some of these people were coerced to join through forced annal sex, luring them with money and niceties and of course some by bullies in leadership positions in family/relatives/guardian, schools and other places. Just like we hear of stories of people who were forced to have sex by teachers, there might be some who went to join gays because of lack of knowledge. And I know that out there some want to leave and become heteresexual rather than homosexual.
It saddens me to hear and see so much hatred in human beings and trust me this will not end. I cannot help but wonder why a 300 blog of mine that i posted here can bring out so much hatred and yet still so much sympathy. Those who are condoning the gays and lesbians to me are merely human beings trying to pretend that they are the best and they are good. Keep on hiding behind that falsehood. The religion you talk about says love but this is not “our” religion we borrowed it frrm the west and the God you so seem to love to mention every time you are talking ill of the sexual miniorities people is not the God i think would love to take part in what you are doing. Like the Bible says, i would love to see the first man throw the first stone. Is it not always those that are very guilty that rush to throw the first stone and judge. There is one lesson i have learnt from all this, the fact that i do not want to be associated with religions or churches that preach love and claim to be all encampassing when in fact they are doing the opposite. So for now until further notice, see me step into a church and hit me so hard. In a time when the church is fighting to keep people in there, i think they should rethink the way they are persecuting some people. try not to be more holier than thou.
INDIVIDUAL BASIS-Strategy in Place and in force
Moral questions, stigma, discrimination, conflict resolution and acknowledgement of views so opposed and polar from our own is a test faced by many who contact humans.Reason, morality, law, tradition, faith, strategy, relations, experience, and commitment all enrich humanity.Life can be uni-polar,parochial,vast,bi-polar or multi-polar.For one to appreciate the richness of life, one has to subject to exposure,self-discipline and pragmatism. This is the basis of tolerance.Tolerance in turn can be measured not only by listening(passively) but by readiness to act and engage in sustainable co-existence drives with fellow humans(even of divergent views).Balance is done by tampering with the weights of subjectivism and objectivism. Our way of thinking and doing things, while a function of culture, social, traditions and norms of how one was raised, should also enable us to co-exist.The effect will be cohesion. This will be able to create early warning systems against political, moral, scientific, social, legal, cultural conflicts which are a feature of human interactions. The fall back position will be resolution underpinned by the principle of co-existence.Because of that, code of conduct should be the next task for groups with whatever form and content of views.Practical application should then be encouraged.Life is a continuous rediscovery.Life in every individual should be upheld, and is a touchstone for all humanity. All this is made possible through co-existence.Co-existence calls for full active life in everyone with dutiful purpose and not anhillation, stigma, social obscurantism, discrimination or extraction. In this era of new and emerging aspirations,a co-existence pact calls for revisiting the traditionally cast codes of conduct for no one has limitless freedom.
Opinion extract from The Daily Monitor Newspaper:
Govt must tighten screws on gays, lesbians
homosexuality: Mayanja Nkangi
Uganda is experiencing an internationally orchestrated Crescendo of demands for “rights” by the homosexual fraternity: male, lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, and Transvestite:
Essentially these “rights” reduce to only one, namely, the absolute, non-negotiable, “right” to pursue and enjoy sexual pleasure man with man, woman with woman; with the bisexual exploiting the pleasures of both worlds, and the transgender covetting and securing the sexual pleasures which both God and his or her heterosexual parents never gave him or her.
The Transvestite is apparently ambivalent as to which sexual genus to firmly pursue, but fits himself or herself somehow. Thus this alleged right is pure sexual hedonism or the relentless pursuit of sexual pleasure for its own sake.
The gay claim to legitimise same sex unions or marriages is purely ancillary to the sexual pleasures and is merely an insurance or security for accessing and enjoying same sex sexual pleasures.
What is implicit here is a claim to the ‘right to sex’, and this should be readily conceded as a human right which is universally accepted by humanity.
However, the mode of sexual activity is itself a societal, rather than a human right and can only be sanctioned by the community in accordance with the moral cultural, religious, or legal norms of that particular community. Sodomy and lesbianism are modes or kinds of sex and are therefore subject to societal regulation by sanction or prohibition, in conformity with a community’s interests.
Astonishingly, the Ugandan gays and lesbians are claiming their sexual orientations as a ‘human right’ and are seeking to coerce Ugandans into stamping the national seal of approval on these weird practices. But for the majority of Ugandans this demand is uncompromisingly unacceptable. They could suffer the moral and cultural outrage silently, but asking them to applaud the sexual deviations goes against the grain.
A right being an entitlement to own, possess, do or say something, or else, forbear, the homosexual fraternity maintain that they are entitled to sodomise natural men, and the lesbians to adopt masculine sexual postrues (whatever they do).
And their rationale for this? “Well, that is what we want and how we want it!” Wanting something is not a sufficient reason for a community or state to sanction it. The next demand could then be the decriminalisation of bestiality (sex with animals) or the laws against adultery or incest. The demand for homosexuality and lesbianism, and their related activities, must be firmly resisted on the ground that these practices violate the cultural, religious, moral, and legal norms of the country.
These people, being themselves the products or children of heterosexual unions, nevertheless pursue practices which rule out procreation, except for the bisexual. They are thus a sexually predatory group of citizens who pursue sexual pleasure without any social or moral conscience for the continuance and survival of Ugandans as a people.
Like the former King Louis XIV of France, their attitudes to this eventual weakening of the nation is “après nous le deluge!”: That is, after I have gone the catastrophe will come, but it will not affect me. The probability that the heterosexual Ugandans will always be there to replenish the country’s numbers does not absolve the homosexuals.
A citizen’s responsibility for the national interest cannot be shifted. Homosexuals, lesbians, and their cohorts are, in this respect, avowed libertines without regard for the national or public interest.
In any case heterosexual progeny or none, she would be a short sighted woman who raised chicken but allowed her neighbour to habitually steal the eggs! As presented by its crusaders the right, if it is one, to same-sex sexual relations and unions is self-evident and calls for no debate but only for recognition by everyone, especially the country’s government and Parliament, who must act and legitimise same sex marriages.
Homosexuality, lesbianism, and the like, are a morally corrupting influence on the youth. In other words, the national accounts of the homosexual fraternity are heavily overdrawn. Therefore the government and Parliament must maintain the legal screws on these unnatural habits which their possessors glorify as respectable orientations.
Uganda must not recognise, sanction, protect or promote sodomy or lesbianism by legislation or otherwise. And gay and lesbian practices are ill winds which blow nobody any good; not even themselves, if only they knew.
The practices are not rights as such but raw sexual appetites whose adverse effects on the Ugandan community must be erased lock, stock, and barrel.
